I just read this comment from a torrent site: "I'm glad I torrented this before going to see it in the theaters. It's an idiot plot wrapped in a quarter billion dollars worth of special effects- if any of the characters had decided to behave intelligently, the movie would have ended in 15 minutes"

He goes on "I think once the novelty of these special effects wears off, it will be remembered in the same vein as The Abyss- a lefty political tract with a handwaved deus ex machina ending- not a great movie.
